Kinetic mirrored sphere sculpture: BluRey AllSphyr

The outer AllSphyr carries forty 12-inch acrylic convex mirrors, with smaller glass mirrors and rhinestones between them, and spins in either direction on a belt-driven motor. Inside it, a second AllSphyr of forty Blu-ray discs, glass mirrors and rhinestones turns on an adjustable-speed direct-drive motor, which gives the piece its holographic look.

Both spheres are carried on a stainless steel framework.

In direct sun the discs throw rainbows across the space around it. At night the circular arches carry programmable LEDs, and spotlights or lasers aimed into its centre change the scene again.

The BluRey AllSphyr was installed at the Hyatt Mission Pacific in 2026, where Sutra Productions and Bliss Productions filmed it in daylight and after dark. It has also stood in its steel ring at a balloon festival at sunset.

The piece is available to rent for events. A rental is planned around the whole window: transport, installation, the event, strike and return are part of the quote, and the venue, access, power and weather are reviewed before a date is confirmed. Rentals generally begin around $1,000 and require a signed rental agreement, confirmed insurance and typically a 50% deposit.
